Burning/bleeding tree

An illustration inspired by the great fire spread over Peloponnese in the summer of 2007.

I was there when the fire began. At the southernmost tip of Peloponnese, Porto Kayo. My wife was pregnant on our first child. We could see the fire moving slowly towards the place we were staying. If it wasn’t for a wind change, our hotel would have been burned to ashes.
